A Day at La PLata

This was how we spent our Labor Day. We brought some snacks, and had some good family time, we even brought Oliver, and he had a great time in the great outdoors! It was nice and a bit cold up in the mountains - that's why we have sweatshirts - even though there was no way mine would have zipped across my belly:) We had several good pictures this day but I only picked 3.

Every time I get the camera out ... Kaitlyn wants to take a picture with Oliver. So I thought this one was cute, and I would share it.

Pap-pap visits on Labor Day

The first picture is my Dad, who our kids call "Pap-pap." The second is the last family picture with only 2 daughters. We went to see the progress at the new shop.

Kaitlyn's first day at Pre-school! She counted down the days untill she got to go, and was so excited when the day finally came. She had a lot of fun and even took a nap! (which NEVER happens at home) She is doing great and her coloring has really improved. She is proud to no longer "scribble like when she was 3." She started pre-school August 18th.

Ducks for Bucks

Last Saturday we went to a winery http://www.winesofthesanjuan.com/for a fundraiser for Niemen Picks Disease. Before last year I had never heard of this disease, but some new friends of Drew's parents lost their daughter Breann to it. To find out more go to: http://www.nnpdf.org/npdisease_01.html So now the parents have an annual event called "Ducks for Bucks" at the winery to promote awareness of it and to raise money to help other families affected by it. We really enjoyed our time out there, the kids got their faces painted, played games, ate food, entered raffles, and the big draw: bought little rubber ducks ($5) and they raced, the winner got $1000! It ended up being a 12 year old boy, who insisted on donating the prize money, what a kid!

Fishing Last Weekend

We finally had a great day at the lake!

It was only the 3rd time that we took it out.

The weather was perfect, our schedule was finally free,

we wore plenty of sunscreen (except my knees),

and everyone caught a fish ...

both girls even took a nap while we were there

(which doesn't even happen at home)

It was a great day of family fun, we can't ask for more than that!

Here is Oliver. Still with us! We have gotten pretty used to having him around now.
This was the first time we took out our new boat! It was a good 2 months ago, but finally here is a picture! We took some pictures when we went out last weekend, so those will be coming someday:)
